In a nutshell: the fab Blue Flag Makronissos Beach is brilliant for solo holidaymakers, couples and families alike. 👍🏖️

So, what are the best hotels near Makronissos Beach in Ayia Napa?

My favourite 4-star gem is the Asterias Beach Hotel — a proper beachfront gem! 🏖️🏨

I’ve put the Asterias Beach Hotel through its paces four times — and it’s absolutely spot on! 👍

Fair warning: the place is a firm favourite with German, Austrian and Swiss guests (but you’ll even spot a few fellow Brits there!)

Just next door you’ll find the cracking 4-star Dome Beach Hotel & Resort. I really enjoyed my stay there too.

The guests were a proper mix of nationalities — a real European vibe, with even a few Brits thrown in! 🇪🇺🇬🇧🏨

Then there’s the fab 4-star Amethyst Napa Hotel & Spa, located right on the main road, Nissi Avenue. I had a proper brilliant time there!

And here’s the best bit: the place is a firm favourite with fellow Brits 🇬🇧👍 (with a lovely mix of Europeans too!)

Only slight downside: the Amethyst Napa Hotel & Spa isn’t a beachfront hotel. It’s about a 10-min stroll to Makronissos Beach.

And then there’s the brand-new brilliant 5-star Ayia Resort — another proper gem I’d highly recommend.🤩🏨

Ayia Resort is a lovely 15-min stroll from Makronissos Beach.

Vouni Trail: a stunning walk through the Paphos vineyards

Oi, oi, hill walker! 😎 If you’re ticking off the best walking trails in Cyprus, add Vouni Trail to your list! Alright, Vouni Trail is a proper belter for anyone who loves walking in Cyprus. This hidden gem is tucked away on the northwest coast of Cyprus, in the Paphos district. Imagine the scene: the sun’s dipping low over the vineyards as you clock your first step. Total bliss: just the crunch of gravel under your walking shoes and the vines rustling in the wind. Not a sinner about. Just you, the silence and a trail twisting past ancient vines. It leads you past stunning panoramas, straight into the heart of the Cyprus mountains…

How to get from Paphos to Pano Panagia by bus?

Hop on bus 637 from Karavella Bus Station in Paphos (Google Maps QCHF+82) and you’ll be at Pano Panagia in about an hour (24mi/39km).

Getting around by bus in Paphos is brilliant from start to finish.

The ride will set you back €2. Cash only! Hop off at the last stop in Pano Panagia. Sorted!

Just a heads up: buses to Pano Panagia village are a lot less frequent on Saturdays than during the week. And on Sundays, there’s no bus to Pano Panagia whatsoever.

If you’re planning on hopping on the bus to Pano Panagia, you’re best off doing the Vouni Trail walk on a weekday.

Go for either the quarter past six or the nine o’clock bus. That gives you loads of time for the walk. 🥾🎒

Bonus: same bus 637 will take you back to Karavella Bus Station in Paphos for another cheeky €2. It’s a loop!

On the way back, go for either the half past two or the five past three bus.

Just a heads up: bus timetables can change from time to time. Best to double-check the board at the stop when you get there, just to be safe. 🚏🚌
